Tighten Wheel Bolts

Wheels and tires of every vehicle are fixed to automobile chassis through wheel bolts, nuts and automotive studs. It is important that the fasteners used are well fixed to their position and are not loose. It does not take much time to check all the automotive bolts. Start from one place and check all the bolts. Following a sequence will ensure that you have not missed any of them. Make sure that the wheel bolts and wheel studs are tight when you check them.

Automobile Bolts in Suspension System Make sure that you check the bolts of suspension system. Proper fixing and tightening of suspension bolt is important to keep the suspension system connected with the vehicle. When we say, all the bolts should be checked, it indicates towards shackle bolts, U-bolts, eye bolts, equalizer bolts and spline bolts.

Auto Bolts – How to Loosen & Fasten Them

Loosening Stuck Auto Bolts Lack of any recent maintenance leads to jammed bolts in different automotive parts or systems. When it comes to loosen these nuts or bolts, then it gets difficult. Despite using different types of automotive wrenches, one might not be able to loosen it. Following steps would help you loosen these bolts easily.

- The usage of penetrant helps to make loose any type of jammed bolt. This might work for you if the bolt is not extremely tight.

- Very often liquid penetrant does not solve the problem. In such a case, use a breaker bar.

- Try sliding the hollow end of the bar over the end of your ratchet wrench. Then just increase the strength slowly on the bar. This would break open the seized bolt.

How to Tighten the Bolts

Possessing a vehicle, you must be understanding the importance of a tight lug bolt. Even a slightly loose bolt can create problems for the vehicle on or off road. Use a wrench to ensure that all the lug bolts are snug. A simple test would help you find this.

While checking a lug bolt, put the wrench on the bolt. Then lean forward so as to apply all your body weight on it. The pressure on the wrench would move the bolt and tighten it. Stop apply weight when you feel the lug bolt is not moving any more. Now the automotive bolt is tight. Check all the lug bolts of your vehicle in a similar manner.

Monthly checks of the automotive fasteners whether lug nuts, screws, nuts, engine studs ensure that none of your auto parts would break open suddenly in the middle of the road. If its difficult for you to check these fasteners then get them checked by your auto repair expert. But do not ignore the automotive fasteners.
