New Age Engine That Reduces Fuel Consumption

Are you tired of spending huge amounts of money on inflated prices of fuel for driving your vehicle? Then, don’t worry. Researches have recently devised a revolutionary engine technology that would help in reducing fuel consumption thereby helping to squelch greenhouse gas emissions associated with automobiles. Latest studies reveal that this new age automobile engine can be installed very easily in the hybrid cars thus making vehicles much more environment  friendly and fuel stingy.

An engine is considered to be the nervous system of the vehicle. A typical internal combustion engine comprises of pistons that are used for turning a crankshaft that causes valves to open and close, allowing air and fuel to enter into the engine’s cylinder and then exhaust the fumes out. But the newer and advanced version of hybrid cars invented by the scientists would be equipped with ‘variable valve actuation’ that has the ability to dissociate or split up the movement of piston from the motion of both the intake and exhaust valves.



With this cutting edge technology, a check on how much air and fuel gets absorbed into the engine and its output can easily be recorded. Through the invention of this technology, both diesel and gasoline engine would become more efficient and cleaner because of the direct control of valves used in engine.

Under this technology, automobile engineers would be able to re-direct the exhaust back into the cylinder only. Ultimately, this process would lessen the temperature inside the engine chamber and there would be severe reduction in the emissions along with nitrogen oxides and smog. Through this technology, the timing between both the valves can be changed very easily and that engine can run effectively by using alternative fuels.

There is estimation that in the near future, most of the automobile manufacturers would make use of green engines, that work on the principle of homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI). In this type of system, both the intake and exhaust valve opens at the same time and with the help of this phenomenon exhaust can  re enter into the engine easily.

This reroute of exhaust helps in keeping the engine cooler. Even a minor drop in the temperature can result in the striking decline in the emissions of nitrogen oxides and some harmful compounds of smog. The ‘variable valve actuation’ or ‘homogenous charge compression ignition’ technology would also have sensors fitted inside the engines that will regulate and monitor the performance of engine. Moreover, these sensors would be helpful in adjusting the timing of valves for optimizing efficient combustion. This latest and advance engine technology would also set up feedback control through which sensors could easily from the automobile engine and an algorithm for managing and controlling the movement of valves.
